Daniel and Revelation by Uriah Smith 3 Foreword This volume is devoted largely to tracing the story of God's marvelous dealing with nations and with notable individuals in fulfillment of the great prophecies of the Bible in the past, but moreFile Size: 1MB.
At the end of the book of Daniel, God instructed Daniel to “shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase” (Daniel ). It is undeniable that we are now living in the “information age,” a time where knowledge has increased in a manner that is unprecedented in. Daniel was the author of this book, and this was confirmed by Jesus himself, but there has been considerable criticism about the book of Daniel because of the accuracy of the prophecies. Many claim that these had to been written after the fact, and that Daniel could not possibly have known so much detail about the future.
THE BOOK OF DANIEL. Daniel himself is the author of the book that carries his name. This is clear from the testimony of Jesus in Mat. Quoting a part of the book, Jesus says that those words were “spoken of through the prophet Daniel.” Among many Bible critics today it is popular to deny that Daniel is the author of the book. But since the nineteenth century, many scholars have contended that Daniel's prophecies weren't prophecies at all. They claimed Daniel's visions were "pseudo-prophecies" circulated in Daniel's name around to BC to encourage the Jews who were suffering greatly under the persecutions of Antiochus IV Epiphanes ( BC), a Greek king.

"The Prophet Daniel" by Arno Gaebelein is one of the more cited books when it comes to Daniel and Revelation. I purchased the book because of a year long study of Revelation I am undertaking in which it is cited by: 1.
Daniel 7 is the Old Testament chapter that most thoroughly prepares us for the book of Revelation. The imagery, information, characters and timing found in Daniel 7 are all seen more fully in Revelation.
I believe much of Daniel 7 has been fulfilled. But the parts Daniel himself was most desirous to know about are for the endtime soon to come.
Daniel’s prophecies were given to the Jews while they were in captivity in Babylon during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, his grandson The Prophecies of Daniel book, and later under Darius the Mede and Cyrus the Persian, when the Jews started filtering back into Jerusalem.
This book of prophecy was meant to prove the time of the coming of the Messiah. Many of today's best known prophecies, including the rise of the Antichrist and the Battle of Armageddon, were recorded by the prophet Daniel in the sixth century B.C. Daniel wrote his prophecies during the 70 years that the people of Israel were held captive in the land of Babylon.
That is to say, the fulfillment of the vision of Daniel took place in the year A.D. and this is the year of the Bab's manifestation according to the actual text of the Book of Daniel.
Consider how clearly he determines the year of manifestation; there could be no clearer prophecy for a manifestation than this. The prophetic seal on the book of Daniel is unsealing right before our very eyes. The days of the 'Church Age' are rapidly drawing to a close and the shadows of the end-times are approaching.
The Old Persian Empire encompassed the areas of present-day Iraq, Iran, Syria, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Pakistan and also present-day Turkey, Palestine. Daniel the prophet was the hero and traditional author of the book of Daniel. Daniel was a young man of Jewish nobility taken into captivity by Nebuchadnezzar in the third year of Jehoiakim and renamed Belteshazzar.
Prophet Daniel was trained in the king's court and then elevated to a high rank in the Babylonian and Persian : Jack Zavada. As these prophesied events begin to unfold, God’s people need to remember that Daniel was also told: “And at that time [this time of the end] your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book” (Daniel ).
The book of Daniel is an excellent prediction of the coming of the Messiah and the triumph of His messianic kingdom (; ; ; ). The book of Daniel contains the crucial foundational passages concerning Israel and the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
In these chapters you will find one of the most dominant prophecies. The events and prophecies of this book cover at least the full length of the 70 year exile in Babylon, from the first deportation of Hebrew captives (2 Chron.
; Dan. ) to the first return of the captives to their homeland (Ezra ).File Size: KB. The Book of Daniel is followed by the Prophet Hosea, the first of the Prophets in the Book of the Twelve. Daniel in the Lions' Den is a favorite Bible story for children.
In addition, the captivating prophecy, imagery, and symbolism make the Book of Daniel one of the most read of Hebrew Scripture, our Old Testament of the Bible.
This is a very good interpretation of the book of Daniel. The author has done an excellent job on this commentary. Daniel is typically a difficult book to understand, particularly the portions related to prophecy.5/5(19). The Book of Daniel is an apocalypse, a literary genre in which a heavenly reality is revealed to a human recipient; such works are characterized by visions, symbolism, an other-worldly mediator, an emphasis on cosmic events, angels and demons, and pseudonymity (false authorship).
The Two Prophecies. Understanding biblical prophecy, especially Daniel’s apocalyptic symbolism, can quickly become an overwhelming task. Throughout Daniel’s apocalyptic material, there are far too many different prophecies, tidbits, and details in Daniel’s apocalyptic material to examine all of them here (let the reader understand!).
The book of Daniel proves two things: God provides and God saves. He not only takes care of his people in their present affliction, but is bringing an everlasting kingdom of peace, which was only prophesied in Daniel’s day, but finds its fulfillment in Jesus the Messiah.
Jerusalem is under attack. Scholars for a long time poured scorn on the Book of Daniel, with all it's specific timings and clearly identified future empires, it simply must have been written far later than claimed (the alternative view being impossible for liberal scholars to contemplate). Recent findings have made such.
Daniel's prophecies are in many respects the most remarkable of any in the sacred record and is the most comprehensive. It was the first prophecy giving a consecutive history of the world from that time to the end. It located the most of its predictions within well defined prophetic periods, though reaching many centuries into the future.
Daniel who through the book received revelations from God. Daniel bridges the entire 70 years of the Babylonian captivity from ( to B.C.; compare and ).
Nine of the 12 chapters relate revelation through dreams and visions. Daniel was God's mouthpiece to the Gentile and Jewish world, declaring God's current and future plans. The Greeks called him Bo-o-tes, which is from the Hebrew root BO (to come), meaning ‘The Coming’.
The recent Gamma Ray Burst took place right at the Tip of the Spear in the hand of Bootes, the Coming Judge. The heavens metaphorically have declared that Judgement Day is here.
The book of Daniel is an fascinating combination of historical book and collection of prophecies, and can sometimes be a confusing mix. Old Testament teacher, itinerent evangelist, and pastor Lehman Strauss has produced an in-depth, thorough study of Daniel his times, writings and prophecies.
This commentary has been a welcome addition to Daniel scholarship since its first publication four 5/5(1). Although Uriah Smith published the first edition of this book in [c], it is still one of the most detailed and contemporary books on the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, —especially for these last days!It is unfortunate that very few people today are interested in the details of prophecy and find a page book too much to read.A remarkable Bible prophecy from the book of Daniel “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book UNTIL the time of the end.
Many shall travel (run to and fro) and knowledge shall increase.” (Daniel ) Daniel the prophet (book of Daniel) received some of the most sweeping prophecies found in the Bible. The failure of his prediction refutes evangelical claims that the Bible is inerrant and prophecy proves its divine inspiration.
The original purpose of the Book of Daniel was to comfort and encourage persecuted Jews during the Maccabean revolt.
It all began in December of BC, when the Seleucid emperor Antiochus Epiphanes desecrated the.
